Sailing Adventure

Ben was offered the opportunity to join Russ and Alison for a portion of their summer sailing expedition. He was thrilled for the chance so we sprang into action to make it all happen.

New Arrivals

A wren family made a nest in the empty drawer of the table on the porch. We watched for weeks as the male and female came and went with food for their young. They didn't seem to mind us very much; Until one evening when we were having dinner on the porch and they were incovenienced by our presence. At first they were tolerant, but as dinner progressed so did their impatience. They began to scold us, so we finished and cleaned up.

Over the days that followed we knew that something exciting was happening with the wren family. Every time we opened the front door the male and female gave us the "what for." They were putting a great deal of effort into clearing the area. Then ............... the first of the young wrens emerged.

Earth Day

The Earth Day Celebration, one of our favorite special school events! This year we composted, planted seedlings, investigated our tree, and buried items to be unearthed later in fifth grade.

We finished off the day playing outside. Unfortunately, our movie was cancelled because of a malfunctioning fire alarm.
